Someone may be very rich and powerful but without any trusted friends they will never be happy. Someone else may be poor but if they are surrounded by trusting friends they’ll be happy. Therefore, taking care of others is the best way to fulfill our own interests.

Very true. We have no idea of the impact of helping one person on the state of the world. 😍
It’s a nice idea though not a new idea. My worry is that a person may become dependent on helping others who do not wish to be helped. My “job” for my happiness should never be determined by someone else’s joy or good behavior. I don’t want to give someone else that kind of power over me.
