I am a Prisoner

I am a Prisoner
A Prisoner of someone
So strong and powerful,
They hold back my hand
When I raise my fist for freedom,
They twist my tongue
When I tweet for Truth and Justice,

I am a Prisoner
A Prisoner of someone
So Strong and powerful
They took me far off
When I choose to write for Rights,
They tied me and trialed
When I hold to Truth too tight,

I am a prisoner
A Prisoner of someone
So strong and powerful,
They looted my home
When I own the Truth and Justice,
They put me in Prison
When the world sold them Humanity.

    1. Yes, so true, Most of them choose to put themselves in darkness for a little shine of freedom for the rest of us. My words are limited and too little to portray their inner strength and committment to create a better world.

  1. You are a talented poet, and a courageous writer. Thank you.

  2. I completely believe that one person who picks up the mantle for their passion, is in their purpose. They will definitely change the world. You are holding a light out for the world (us) to see what must not remain in the dark. Thank You, for being a Light in the midst of the darkness. You are Chosen.

  3. Each of us is a prisoner. We are our own prisoners, civilization, consumerism, contaminated world, though still beautiful.
Let’s be happy and try not to hurt another person.

    1. Thank YOu for going through it. It saddens and worries me to think about the Tibetan political prisoners. Many of them continue to suffer under the Chinese inhuman treatment and torture in the Chinese prisons.

      1. Oddly enough, I read this article before I saw your post. Your post seems so poignant. I’ve included the link. Sadly, not many people know that Tibet was once independent and China, with her usual MO, walked in and highhandedly annexed Tibet. I researched and studied the history of Tibet when I was studying for my Communication degree. China needs to be stopped but I don’t think the UN has the wherewithal to stop them. Keep speaking out!

  4. Reblogged this on dawnfanshawe and commented:
When we do not work together in love of God and our neighbours, this kind of division, oppression and injustice is allowed.
Love our enemies and allow no division, no ignorance and fear of the other.
Don’t be afraid to surrender control to God and allow and encourage FREEDOM in the hearts, minds and lives of all we meet.
Pray for our family members who suffer division, persecution, and unjust hardships that they may be comforted by the God of all comfort and be strengthened and emboldened to STAND.
Thank you Sonam for sharing this powerful poem and photographs.
