Home remains home, and it is awful to lose it. I know this in a limited way from having to move, for economic reasons, from a village I loved to a city I hated.
It saddens me more, when things get worse day by day back at home.
Awful, indeed.

So many of my friends are refugees from the Syrian war. I couldn’t return home to visit my family for 8 years. My mind would often turn to Syria. Thank you for this post.
Glad that you have shared it, hope you all will find yourselves back in your own home soon. I can feel it, as I haven’t been back to my home for the last 16 years and still hoping for a good day to come to reunite with my parents.
Oh my goodness. 16 years! I went home last summer and saw my brother and sister. 8 years was far too long! God bless you and your family.
